While it’s not always mentioned first when discussing HVAC-R services, the installation and maintenance of cooking and refrigeration products are seriously in-demand skills. Restaurants, schools, hotels, resorts — really, any location that provides food service — need highly skilled equipment technicians to stay operational. And the MEMA Technical Education Center is committed to training students interested in addressing this need.

Our newest course offering is a five-day intensive on commercial food equipment. This training takes place both in the classroom and in our newly developed Food Equipment Lab. The class has been designed using materials from the Commercial Food Equipment Service Association (CFESA).

CFESA is a nationally recognized electricity, gas, steam and refrigeration training program. This certification assures food-service companies that you have the best possible skill set. A CFESA-certified technician maintains certification for five years.
